Meadowlarks Film

film poster

Meadowlarks, directed by Tasha Hubbard, follows four Cree siblings separated since childhood who reunite for the first time over a holiday weekend in Banff, telling a story of identity, healing, and the fragile process of becoming family. Given complete creative freedom, I centered the poster concept around the film's title, representing the four siblings as meadowlarks in flight with flower petals falling from them, using the birds as a metaphor for their journey toward one another after decades apart. The petals introduce a sense of release and fragility, while the upward motion of the birds speaks to hope and reunion. Composition was my primary focus, and I carefully arranged the four birds to feel simultaneously unified and individual, reflecting siblings bound by blood but shaped by entirely separate lives, allowing the piece to breathe while still reading as a cohesive group. The poster was created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and was featured alongside the film at the 2026 Spokane International Film Festival (SpIFF).
